I was driving up the A1 the other day and passed a camper van with a bumper sticker that brought a smile to my face on a long journey.
“take it easy, life is short!”
It makes you think, life goes by in the blink of an eye, which sort of brings me onto pensions and retirement planning. I know, it’s a bit of a leap but stay with me!
The Pension story has changed so much over the last 3 years and more and more people are utilising some of their funds early to live for today. I’ve seen people buying Porsche Boxsters , VW campervans, holidays of a lifetime and of course conservatories and house extensions etc. They’re using some of their pension monies early and living for today but of course keeping a handle on the effect it will have on their future retirement income.
I love to get involved in this, after all, retirement is boring but living for today shouldn’t be!
You know what though, I’m starting to think it's one and the same and if you take the right advice early enough it can help fund a few things that sound a bit more exciting than just retirement!
